On Wednesday, Chief Justice of India TS Thakur stated that the judiciary and government would resolve all differences over the manner of appointment of the judges within two weeks.

CJI Thakur further added that there should not be any further delay in finalising Memorandum of Procedure (MoP), which would guide judicial appointments in the country.

After delivering the lecture, Justice TS Thakur was coming out of the event when he was asked questions relating to Justice Chelameswar which he chose not to answer.

CJI looked  very positive about settling differences with the government over the MoP . “I am not at all saying that I expect to do it (finalising the MoP)… but I am saying that we will do it in two weeks,” said Justice Thakur.

He also added that Collegium was readying final draft of MoP that will be sent to the government for finalisation.
