Office of DM did not comply Court order for Two Years.

On Thursday, Melur Judicial Magistrate Court ordered detention of the Madurai Collector and the Melur Tahsildar in civil prison for six weeks for not complying with Court directive of issuing patta for a piece of the private land of two siblings.

In the Petition, Usain Mohammed and Jawahar Ali said that the JM court on December 23, 2014, had directed Madurai District Administration to survey land at Kottampatti of Melur taluk and issue patta in their names within two months.

But, Collector and Melur Tahsildar failed to comply with order.

Petitioner’s  Counsel said that being Government Officials, Collector and the Tahsildar were deliberately insulting Court for two years without issuing the patta. They also did not respond to legal notices given by the Petitioners.

Judge stated that even after lapse of several months, Court order was not complied with. So Collector and the Tahsildar should be kept in civil prison for six weeks and their vehicles should be seized.
