Police has been asked to ensure strict compliance and submit time bound report.
Today Election Commission of India ordered for registration of an FIR be filed against Delhi CM and AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal for his remark about voters should accept bribes made at a rally in poll-bound State Goa earlier this month.
The EC asked Police to submit compliance report regarding FIR on Kejriwal by 3.00 PM , January 31, at the latest.
The EC had also castigated the Delhi chief minister on January 21 for asking voters of Goa to accept bribes from the political parties who are offering it, but vote only for his party AAP.
While addressing a election rally on January 8 rally, he told the voters to ask for Rs 10,000 when offered Rs 5,000 by workers of other rival parties and to accept it only new currency denomination notes.
The EC had said that the comments were an exhortation to voters to accept bribes and if Kejriwal doesn’t stop making such statements, EC would derecognise AAP.
Instead of accepting his mistake, last week, he tested the EC’s patience further by asking EC that he want to repeat his comments on bribes.
He had said that EC will review the issue and will allow him to repeat his bribe comments in a letter to the EC.
Kejriwal said in the letter that AAP has shown in the Delhi election that People took money from BJP and Congress voted for AAP.
