Delhi High Court has agreed with Centre that the relaxation has been provided to the citizens to help them deal with the shift to the new currency as per Demonetisation policy .

High Court Bench comprising of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal stated that,”Relaxation has been given wherever it is necessary.”

Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain, appearing on behalf of the Centre and Standing Counsel Gaurang Kanth, “ If for the weddings, there are no conditions, then anybody can get the marriage card printed and go to the bank.”

Petitioner Birender Sangwan had alleged that guidelines that seeks detailed list of the people to whom the cash is proposed to be paid for the marriage and a declaration from them that they do not have a bank account were “arbitrary“ and thus made it impossible for a family to withdraw the cash at the time of need.
