Today the Apex Court asked the Chhattisgarh govt. to give advance notice of 4 weeks to social activist Nandini Sundar & others before proceeding against them in the case of the alleged murder of a tribal man in Naxal-affected areas of Chhattisgarh.

The Supreme Court also took on record the assurance given by the state govt. that Sundar & others, who have been booked for the murder, will not be interrogated or arrested as of now.

A bench of Justice M B Lokur & Justice Adarsh Goel granted liberty to Sundar & others to approach the Court if any notice of interrogation or arrest is served.

“ASG Tushar Mehta says that Archana Prasad, Vineet Tiwari, Nandini Sundar & others won’t be interrogated or arrested . State govt. is directed to give 4 weeks advanced notice before proceeding in this case.” the bench said.

However, the bench, refused to entertain Sundar’s plea that the state should 1st take permission from the court before interrogating or arresting her & other activists in the case.

DU Professor Sundar, JNU professor Archana Prasad & others on November 7, were booked on charges of murder of a tribal villager in the insurgency-hit Sukma district in the state Chhattisgarh.
