Swearing in ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan around 4:30pm.

Palaniswami took oath 1st, followed by 30 ministers in 4 batches.

Thiru. Edappadi K. Palanisami is a loyalist of Sasikala and has been appointed the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. He belongs to Salem district of Tamil Nadu.

This is the 3rd ministry in the last 10 months since AIADMK won assembly election in May 2016.

On Tuesday Supreme Court had convicted AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala in Disproportionate assets case and sent her to Jaol for Four Years.

The verdict has dashed her hopes of becoming CM. Soon thereafter she expelled O Panneerselvam & all the rebels supporting him.

In a last ditch attempt to keep the flock of her MLAs she elected Edappadi K. Palaniswami as the Legislature Party Leader in the fast pace developments on Tuesday.

Simultaneously, police protection given to O. Panneerselvam at his official residence has been withdrawn.

The CM’s emblem & beacon on his car (TN 04 AX 2345) have been removed.

Palaniswami has kept the portfolios of public, finance, police, PWD, home, highways & minor ports and personnel & administrative reforms.

Party’s presidium chairman K. A. Sengottaiyan is only new face in Palaniswami’s cabinet. KA Sengottaiyan has replaced K Pandiarajan who was the School’s Education Minister in the new cabinet.
