2.7.2015: A woman judge has alleged harassment by a Himachal Pradesh judge, following which he has been placed under suspension by the Chief Justice of the HP High Court. The first of its kind incident has stunned the judicial fraternity in the state. The HC has directed that the investigation in the case be completed within two months.
Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir has ordered a probe into the allegations, sources said here today.
The alleged incident took place during the national-level conference on drug abuse at Manali from June 11 to 13.
As per the complaint of the woman judge, she was asked to come to Manali in advance for making preparations for the conference being attended by Judges of Supreme Court and High Courts.
On June 8, the accused tried to pressurise the woman judge to accompany him to a resort and allegedly misbehaved with her. The event, attended by Supreme Court and high court judges besides those from the state judicial services, was held from June 11 to 13.
Later, she made a complaint to the Chief Justice who ordered an inquiry into the matter and the accused judge was suspended, pending probe against him, sources added.
