Supreme Court has observed that, there is an aggravation of Maoist situation and Government should take a “pragmatic view of the life” and find a “peaceful solution.”

The Apex Court has drawn assurance from BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh Government that it would not arrest or detain Delhi University Professor Nandini Sundar till November 15, the next date of hearing.

Supreme Court Bench comprising of Justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice A.K. Goel, expounded that, “Government is not taking the situation seriously.

Whole thing is being aggravated.  Government has to find a peaceful situation… and has to take a pragmmatic view of life,”.

Supreme Court was hearing the application which was filed by Ms. Sundar for a stay and quashing of the FIR filed against her and three others, a DU professor and two other activists, for murder of a tribal person in the insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
