It was a Road Rage case when their official Car was attacked with Bricks.
Three men have been convicted of attempting to murder three district court judges by hurling bricks at their official car in a road rage incident in 2012, with Delhi Court relying on “uncontroverted” testimony of judicial officers.
Additional Sessions Judge R K Tripathi convicted Delhi residents Anil Raj, Rohit and Prashant for offences including attempt to murder and assault on the public servant to deter him from discharge of duty under the Section 34, IPC and Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
Court expounded that,”Prosecution has succeeded to prove its case against the accused beyond all the shadows of reasonable doubt”.
The then judges in the Saket District Court Ajay Garg, M K Nagpal and Inderjeet Singh were attacked by the four persons in May 2012 while they were on their way home. While the three accused faced trial, one was declared as a proclaimed offender.
Court further added that,”Judges have fully supported testimony of complainant (driver) on all the material particulars. There is a consistency in their deposition”.
It also rejected contention of accused that they were falsely implicated in the case.
“Public servants are responsible members of the society. There is no reason as to why they will falsely name and identify them for no apparent oblique reason,” court added.
The court, which is yet to pronounce quantum of sentence in this case.
